ApC are proud to launch Openspace.

From May 2016 ApC will adopt a new procedure to replace sending emails with attachments. Openspace is the way forward to sending and authorising your accounts, paperwork and documents securely.

What is Openspace?

IRIS OpenSpace creates a safe and secure environment in which we can exchange documents electronically with you. Its quick and simple to use, it cuts out the time and costs involved in posting documents and eliminates the risks involved in sending confidential information by email, which more recently has been shown to be unsecure.

How secure is Openspace?

Openspace is hosted securely by Microsoft and complies with UK Data protection guidelines and is updated securely by Microsoft to ensure ApC is protected but more importantly our clients are protected.

All passwords are hashed and salted - hashing means stored passwords are encrypted and not possible for anyone to see. Salted means all passwords cannot be cracked if someone was to access the database.

The only person with access to set and change the password is you; the client, and the only way to reset it is via a generated password reset link that is emailed to you; the client.

Files uploaded on to Openspace are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).

How do I create my account?

You will receive an invitation email from ApC via a specified email address.

Within this email will be a link for you to click on and open your account by setting a password. Below is a “how to guide” on setting up your account.

Once the password is set an email will be sent to you confirming your account activation.

How will I know when documents are uploaded and need approving?

When ApC uploads any files or documents you will receive an email informing you of it. You can then login and view the files.

If approval is required then there will be a box asking for approval.

Client activation steps

  1. Client activation email - You will receive an email entitled IRIS OpenSpace Client Registration. To activate your account, click on the link in the email and create a password (see screen shot below):
  2. Client password setup - The link takes you to a page where you can setup a password for your OpenSpace account (see screen shot below):
  3. Client Confirmation Success - You will then receive a message confirming your account has been setup and an email entitled Welcome to OpenSpace (see screen shot below). You are now ready to login to OpenSpace and view any documents your practice has uploaded:
